A message from Graeme Whittaker, the Chairman of the Land and Premises
committee
As you may have seen the Park was badly damaged in the
floods in June. Volunteers have been working very hard for the past three
Saturdays decontaminating the area. The damaged pavilion has been fenced off
and will be demolished once planning permission for a new pavilion has been
granted. The application process for a new pavilion has already been started.
The lost or damaged equipment will be replaced through the insurance. The park is
now opened although there is still some work to be done.
Stannington apartments
(Wraggs site)
The flats are now
occupied with just some work on the car park surface and the landscaping to be
finished. The request for the Planning Gain money for this site was for it to
be spent on improving the Village Green and the Park. Sheffield City Council
has received the money and is holding it until an agreement is made on how the
money should be spent.
Bradfield Village Hall
The new hall was officially
opened and is in full use. Please contact www.bradfieldvillagehall.org.uk

Village Appraisals
As a result of
the village appraisal project a Rural Youth bid was submitted and proved
successful and is already providing some youth services within the parish with
other groups in the process of being created.
The Parish Council is working in partnership with other agencies to
manage this project. We await further news. Youth provision is ongoing at
Wharncliffe Side and Stannington, with a new group starting at
The Parish Council has
commissioned the Steel Valley Project to implement the Management Plan to improve
the area.
Charitable Trusts
There are a
number of small Charitable Trusts within the Parish available for people who
live in a specified area.
Marriott and Hague Trust - for people who live in the Stannington and Dungworth area
Blands Trust - for people within the
Oughtibridge area
